Sustainable Bowes Park - Free Energy Saving Advice Evening
Sustainable Bowes Park is an exciting new project of the Bowes Park Community Association which seeks to help householders, local community groups, schools and businesses to act more sustainably.
Cara Jenkinson of the Muswell Hill Sustainability Group will be talking about low cost ways of saving energy. Come along and find out about easy ways to save energy in the home, and access low cost energy-saving products on Tuesday, 31st January at the TAB Centre Cafe on Palmerston Road between 7:30 - 9:30pm.

Welcome - Updated 23rd January 2012
A belated welcome to 2012 from the BPCA!
We are very proud of our achievements over the past 12 years or so and the support we have received from our members and other people locally. However of course there is still so much to do and we have big plans for 2012. We haven't been in the past as upfront as we should have been about the need to raise money to maintain the work we do. The money we raise from memberships, donations and fund raising goes primarily into doing two things, firstly the newsletter that is printed and distributed about twice or three times per year and the events we put on. We have always wanted to be inclusive about everything we do and the fact that the newsletter is delivered for free to the whole area of Bowes Park is indicative of this as are the events which are open to all and are free. We aim to get grants to cover the costs of the events and of course a lot of people give up their time for free to make these happen but there are costs to be covered to put on these events even if some of these costs are recouped through fund raising on the day.
So what we are saying is if you are a member and you have let your membership lapse please rejoin. If you have never been a member but have appreciated the newsletter and events then please join, you will be helping safeguard these for the future. We have now become a charity limited by guarantee and this means that we qualify for gift aid so on top of your membership we get that little bit extra that can make all the difference. Our membership prices are very reasonable and as a well known supermarket chain says "every little helps".
The membership forms are available below and if you want to make an extra donation then it will be very gratefully received. Don't forget to fill in the Gift Aid form, this only needs to be done once and not on every renewal.
