Platform for the Arts
Improving Bowes Park Railway station and bridge was one of
BPCA's first projects. Lots of planning and campaigning has led to WAGN's
repainting the station, improving the signage and adopting a policy of zero
tolerance on graffiti. The bridge has been resurfaced and crime prevention money
was used to provide better lighting.
Mosaic artist, Miranda, has recently moved to an artist studio on the platform
building, at Bowes Park Railway station. She is running regular weekend
workshops in small friendly and informal groups.
The fee is £55 for the day and includes materials and refreshments. All
inquiries welcome, phone 020 8881 9853.
In the summer of 2007, the station had a facelift and was
repainted. Here is how it now looks.
Community Picnic
| Not for the first time, the
BPCA held a Community Picnic in our garden
on 3rd June, 2006. This turned out to be the hottest day of the year
so far and a great time was had by everyone who turned up.
Included among the entertainment, there
was a magician who was enjoyed by youngsters and adults alike, as you can
see in the photograph opposite. You can read about other more recent
event in which the Association has either been involved or has arranged
by going to our News page. |
