Next Sunday – 19 March – we’ll be working in Finsbury Gardens again as we get it ready for spring. With the Easter holiday just around the corner and the May bank holidays shortly after, it’s the perfect time to make sure our local parks and gardens are ready for us to enjoy.
We’ll be meeting from 2.30pm and finishing around 4.30pm. Children, families and adults welcome. We
have some tools but if you do have garden tools then please bring them along. There are people on hand who can tell the difference between a weed and something we want to keep and to help out with any novice gardeners!
As you can see from the photo, we made good progress in February with digging, weeding and planting and lots of children joined us and seemed to have a lot of fun.
We tackled the beds at the Clarence Road side of the Gardens and planted primulas to add more colour to the daffodils and crocuses which have multiplied over the years.
Our next session will tackle the long bed near the playground and the two beds on the near Truro Road. there will be more digging, weeding, pruning and planting.
Hope to see you on Sunday 19 March, weather permitting.
